English I Honors

          These novels should be read by the beginning of the course.  Read and take notes over what you read.  Tests  will be administered.

        Great Expectations, Charles Dickens

English II Honors

         These should be read by the beginning of the course.  Read and take notes over what you read.  Tests over these will be administered
          throughout the course.
 

Required novel:  The Adventures of Tom Sawyer,  Mark Twain
Choose one of these epics: The Iliad [or] The Odyssey, Homer

Choose one of the following additional novels:
          The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, Carson McCullers
          A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Betty Smith
          Watership Down, Richard Addams

 

 

English III Honors

          Comprehension and evaluation of works read will continue throughout the course.

English IV Honors/Dual Credit

          An objective test, as well as composition assignments and several class discussions, will culminate the summer reading program.
